The agROBOfood network of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) and Competence Centers (CCs) supports companies to introduce and promote new robotic technologies into the agri-food sector. In total 49 DIHs are identified, covering 19-member states. DIHs connect companies to CCs in their region or to any other DIH, assuring companies will have access to all expertise available in the network throughout Europe.
To foster growth in service quality and proximity, the DIHs are connected in regional clusters, each represented by a Cluster Leader. Cluster Leaders are experienced in service provision and digital innovation, and coordinate and guide the DIHs in their region. To cover the whole of Europe, 7 regional clusters are defined, and by adding new DIHs, the initial agROBOfood network will grow in number and completeness of the ecosystem. That will also be achieved through the Innovation Experiments (IEs), The IEs will be supported by the DIHs, thus enabling and provoking network integration, expertise and equipment sharing and blending.
The agROBOfood network reaches out to both end users and technology developers. The Innovation Experiments and Industrial Challenges have the goal of increasing the penetration of robotic technologies into the agri-food industry at all levels.
