biotope by VIB is an incubator program for agri-food biotech startup teams looking to impact people’s lives through innovation. Based in Flanders, biotope offers a stimulating environment where the leaders of tomorrow can strengthen both their business skills and technology in a personalized journey. Right from the start of the 12-month program, biotope supplies significant pre-seed funding and work hands-on with a small cohort, helping teams transform their innovative ideas into businesses ready for seed funding. The incubator supports success through mentoring and access to high-tech facilities, fostering connections to a network of world-class experts, partners, and investors. Knowledge Transfer Experiments (KTEs) are a short-term (3 months) internship projects between two different entities from two different Countries: one Academic/Industrial partner who act as Sending Organization and one Academic/Industrial partner who act as Host Organization. KTEs comprise a novel type of experiments allowing smaller projects, or less mature ideas to be presented, tested and thus potentially find the fertile ground to grow and reveal its product potentials. The activities that qualify for financial support are related to the exchange of knowledge of CLEC for CPS and IoT, to be applied in four SMART4ALL verticals with European leadership and strategic importance: Digitized Transport, Digitized Environment, Digitized Agriculture, Digitized Anything. Application Deadline: 15th June 2022 & Available funding: €8,000. The Seedbed Incubator is a six-month programme that aims to transform science and technology-based innovations, that can help solve global food system challenges, into market-validated businesses. The programme is delivered by world-class EIT Food partner organisations. The EIT Food Seedbed Programme is focused on supporting three participant groups with business propositions underpinned by science and technology, that could transform the food system: (i) Entrepreneurial Teams seeking to validate the commercial potential of their innovation, (ii) Science Entrepreneurs seeking to validate the commercial potential of technology they are developing as a student, academic or employee at a Research Organisation or University, (iii) Recently incorporated companies (spinouts or startups, typically less than a year old) seeking to validate the commercial potential of their innovation. The ERA-NET Cofund ICT-AGRI-FOOD will launch a Joint Call for transnational, collaborative, inter-/ transdisciplinary research and innovation projects addressing the challenge of transforming the European agri-food systems into sustainable, resilient, transparent and fair systems as outlined in the pre-announcement. The scope of the 2022 Joint Call is based on the ICT-AGRI-FOOD vision, which explicitly sets out to bring together actors from across the entire food system (from conventional and organic supply chains) in a multi-actor approach. The challenge is to develop systems that are efficient, effective, equitable, trustable and transparent while enhancing sustainability of these. Launch of the call: Mid of April 2022
